Hello and welcome to the AAUP-KSU Tenured and Tenure Track Faculty Collective Bargaining Unit web page. On this and the related pages you will find information specific to the Tenured and Tenure Track Faculty Collective Bargaining Unit (TT Unit). Web links to key governance documents including the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the AAUP-KSU Constitution and the TT Unit Governing Document are provided. In addition, links are provided allowing for convenient access to membership information, contact information for the Chapter Office, the TT Unit Executive Committee and Council. Descriptions about our committees and their functions are also provided.
Please take a few minutes to browse through the site and become familiar with the various activities undertaken on behalf of the Faculty at Kent State University. If you are not currently a member, we encourage you to seriously consider the benefits of joining. There are links to membership information that make the process an easy one. AAUP-KSU works on behalf of all KSU faculty, however, only members may participate in setting the Associations goals and priorities. Most importantly, only members may vote on matters such as contract ratification, strike authorization, and in the election of representatives to AAUP-KSU Council, which is the governing board of the TT Unit.
If you are already a member, great! We welcome your support and confidence in the Association. Please also consider becoming actively involved in the Association. You need not be a member of the AAUP-KSU Council to participate on one of our many committees. Remember, AAUP-KSU is YOU! The officers, representatives and committee members work on your behalf, and it is the membership that contributes to the setting of goals and priorities. Your voice is important and there are many ways to make your voice and your ideas heard including active membership on Association committees that are always seeking new members. There are also regular elections for representation to Council and the TT Unit Executive Committee. We welcome your assistance – there is always work to do!
Thanks for your interest and support – we count on it. We look forward to continuing communication with you – please keep in touch. We are always interested in new ideas and different perspectives on issues important to you. Let’s work together to keep shared governance strong at KSU!
