AAUP-KSU was surprised to read in the “Collective Bargaining Management Update - Jan. 17” that the administration is asserting that no proposals have been exchanged on the issue of making any standard increment (across the board) raises for AY 18/19 retroactive to the beginning of the academic year. AAUP-KSU’s proposals on Article XII (Salary) of August 24th, October 10th, and November 27th have all contained the following language: “This standard increment will be retroactive to the start of the 2018-2019 academic year contract”(see section  5.A.1 of each proposal).

Analogous language occurs in the 2015 CBA, Article XII, Section 5.A.1.  Each of the administration’s proposals on Article XII (of August 9th, August 24th, and October 24th) has had the language concerning retroactive raises crossed out.  It was on the basis of this exchange of proposals that AAUP-KSU stated in its January 14th Bargaining Update that “The administration has also refused to make any standard increment raises for AY 18/19 retroactive to the beginning of the academic year.”  AAUP-KSU is unsure why the administration would deem this statement a “complete fabrication.”
