We are still bargaining! The work on the contract is progressing, but admittedly, more slowly than we would all like. We are optimistic (cautiously so) that we will finish by the end of this semester.  At this point, we have only reached a tentative agreement on ARTICLE I: Definitions. However, we have discussed all of the articles under consideration, and we feel that we are close to coming to an agreement on most of them.

AAUP-KSU is the Kent State University chapter of the American Association of University Professors. At the national level, the AAUP is known for its work in promoting positive academic values and shared governance, as well as protecting faculty against attacks on tenure and academic freedom. AAUP-KSU shares those interests and also serves as the collective bargaining agent for all full-time faculty at Kent State University. First established in 1978, there has been an AAUP chapter at Kent State for forty (40) years.

Membership entitles you to an active voice in determining the issues, goals, and priorities of AAUP-KSU and to voting rights with regard to contract issues. In particular, membership gives you an active voice in determining the issues and priorities established for negotiations.

Hello TT Faculty members,

The Board of Trustees voted to ratify the CBA on June 26th.  AAUP-KSU has been informed that Faculty can expect to see their retroactive 2% increase for AY 18/19 on August 15th.  That payment should also include an appropriate adjustment in pay for any summer or intersession classes taught reflecting the retroactive AY 18/19 salary.
